Lagos State is taking a major step toward improving business opportunities with the arrival of six new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue and Red Lines.
This upgrade is expected to transform commuting, making it easier for entrepreneurs and small business owners to move goods, access markets, and connect with customers across the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the development on his official X handle, highlighting that the new trains, having passed factory acceptance tests, are set for shipment. Once operational, they will increase trips on the Blue Line and extend services to Okokomaiko as phase two of the project progresses.

The Blue Line, launched in September 2023, already supports businesses by ensuring faster and more reliable transport along the Marina to Mile 2 corridor.
The upcoming 14-kilometre extension to Okokomaiko will further integrate communities, opening up new opportunities for small businesses to thrive.
This initiative reinforces Lagos’ commitment to creating infrastructure that drives economic growth, empowers entrepreneurs, and supports a business-friendly environment.
For small business owners, the expanded rail system means less time commuting and more time growing their ventures.
