Kano state governor commences empowerment program for 2,000 persons with disabilities

In a commendable initiative, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has initiated the distribution of empowerment packages to 2,000 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) spanning across all 44 local government areas.

The empowerment program, organized by the Ministry of Women, Children, and the Disabled, disbursed a cash token of N20,000 to each beneficiary during a ceremony held at Coronation Hall, Kano Government House on Thursday.

Governor Yusuf, addressing the gathering, emphasized that the distribution of the empowerment packages is a tangible step towards fulfilling his campaign promises. He reiterated his commitment to inclusivity, irrespective of economic background or social differences.

Expressing gratitude for the significant support received from People With Disabilities during the March 18 elections, the governor acknowledged their immense contribution to his administration and stated that the gesture is a form of payback for their overwhelming support. Governor Yusuf affirmed his readiness to continue supporting and identifying with the People With Disabilities in the state.
