The Federal Government has commenced the training phase of its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme, a key initiative to equip Nigerians with hands-on, income-generating skills.
Since its launch in May, the programme has received over 1.3 million applications, with 970,000 certified as eligible. The first cohort of 250,000 trainees has now been matched to 1,700 training centres nationwide to begin 6–12 month master training across 25 NBTE-approved trades, including hospitality, fashion design, livestock management, and solar installation.
