The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has announced a new collaboration between the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre and the National Youth Service Corps. The move is designed to strengthen youth-focused programmes that create jobs and support small enterprises.
During a meeting in Abuja, Minister Ayodele Olawande emphasized the need to align both agencies under one strategy. He said the partnership will cut duplication of efforts and direct resources into initiatives that benefit young entrepreneurs.
The NYSC will mobilise corps members to drive innovation and support community-based enterprises. The CLTC will train young Nigerians in leadership and civic responsibility, preparing them to build sustainable small businesses.

Officials said the cooperation will boost employability and entrepreneurship among youth. They added that it will also expand opportunities for SMEs by providing skills, mentorship, and access to enterprise support networks.
The partnership marks a fresh step in empowering small businesses and positioning young Nigerians as the backbone of economic growth. It reflects the Federal Government’s agenda to grow SMEs as engines of national development.
