The Yobe State government has provided ₦1.5 billion in financial support to 15,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs to promote financial inclusion and stimulate local economic growth.
Governor Mai Mala Buni launched the initiative at the Government House in Damaturu, highlighting the critical role of nano and small businesses in driving grassroots development. Each beneficiary will receive ₦100,000 to enhance their businesses and livelihoods.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to protecting the vulnerable, empowering citizens, and fostering self-reliance,” Governor Buni stated. He emphasized that the intervention aims to address immediate economic recovery needs while building a foundation for long-term resilience.

The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Small and Medium Scale Industries Credit Board, Alhaji Muhammad Alkali, noted that the agency has supported over 24,160 SMEs in the state, further boosting economic activities.
This intervention underscores the government’s dedication to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering sustainable economic growth in Yobe State.
