Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has launched the distribution of agricultural inputs to 1,000 farming households, including displaced persons from Mallam Dunari and members of their host communities.
The programme, flagged off at the Government House in Damaturu, is supported by the European Union and the Swiss government. It aims to boost food production and improve the livelihoods of vulnerable groups across the state.
Beneficiaries for the rainy season will receive insecticides, sprayers, hoes, and cutlasses, while those involved in dry-season farming will get water pumps, improved seeds, fertilisers, and other tools.
Buni said Mallam Dunari residents are the last group awaiting resettlement and assured them of continued support.
