The 17th edition of the West African Internet Governance Forum (WAIGF) kicked off today in Abuja, gathering regional stakeholders to shape the future of internet governance in the sub-region.
Held at the Digital Economy Complex, NCC building, Mbora, the forum runs under the theme “Building a Resilient, Inclusive, and Safe Digital Future for West Africa.” The five-day event aims to build capacity among stakeholders, tackle key regional internet governance issues, and highlight West Africa’s growing digital influence.

The forum features multiple segments including the School of Internet Governance, the Youth Internet Governance Forum, and main sessions such as the African Parliamentary track on internet governance.
Participants include tech policymakers, academics, private sector leaders, ECOWAS officials, and government representatives from across the region.
