In a notable achievement, four graduates from the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) have each secured N1.5 million through the 2024 BATN Foundation’s Graduate Agripreneur Programme.
The awardees are Mustapha Ibrahim for his Tomato Awakening Project (TAP), Olajire Adekunle Sherif for catfish production, Oluwadare Ogunmonye for maize farming, and Akinboye Anuoluwapo for expanding his tomato paste production.
At the awards ceremony held in the Faculty of Agriculture’s Sasakawa Extension Hall, British American Tobacco’s General Manager, Mr. Oludare Odusanya, emphasized the initiative’s role in equipping graduates with vital entrepreneurial skills and opportunities in agriculture.

He reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable development in Nigeria.
Each graduate will also benefit from mentorship and industry support to ensure the success and growth of their projects.
The Vice Chancellor of Unilorin, Prof Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho, represented by the Deputy VC (Academics), and Prof Oluyemisi Bolajoko Fawole, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, praised the programme’s role in promoting entrepreneurial spirit among students.
