Dr. Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, met with the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, to discuss preparations for the upcoming Africa Caucus 2024. The meeting, held at the Federal Ministry of Finance Headquarters in Abuja, focused on boosting intra-African trade and promoting sustainable growth.

The Honourable Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Mr. Mohamed M. Malick Fall, and other senior officials were in attendance.

The 2024 African Caucus Meeting, themed “Facilitating Intra-African Trade: Catalyst for Sustainable Economic Growth in Africa,” is set to take place in Abuja. Hosted by the Federal Ministry of Finance, the event will address key topics such as strengthening Pan-African payment ecosystems, enhancing connectivity, ensuring energy access, advancing trade facilitation within a just and equitable transition framework, and supporting the optimization of multilateral development banks to advance Africa’s collective agenda.
