Nigerians have been charged with participating in the current administration’s agricultural revolution in order to achieve food security for the country.
Abiodun Eset, Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Community Engagement, made the statement on Monday while addressing at the first commodity fair and interactive events for value chain operators in Lokoja, where the Kogi state government showcased the exhibition/networking.
She described agriculture as the mainstay of Nigeria’s economy and food security, saying that Tinubu’s administration will prioritize agricultural development.
Eset urged farmers across the country to embrace the government’s involvement to increase food sufficiency in Nigeria, and he challenged local rice and cassava value chain farmers and processors in the federation to brace up and enhance their livelihood.
The commodity fair, themed “celebrating the resilience and roles of small holder farmers in sustaining food security in Nigeria,” drew participation from the federation’s six states.

Eset praised the state administration and the state’s VCDP coordinator, Dr. Stella Adejoh, for her dedication to the FGN/IFAD and VCDP Agriculture Program.
Earlier, Dr. Fatima Aliyu, national programme coordinator of the FGN, International Fund for Agricultural Development, and Value Chain Development Programme, represented by Baba Yakubu, stated that Governor Yahaya Bello has continued to live up to expectations by paying counterpart contributions to enable agriculture to strive for the benefit of farmers in Kogi state.
