The Federal Government has reiterated its dedication to fortifying national policies for sustainable growth within the transportation sector. Dr. Segun Obayendo, Chairman of the Governing Council at the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CIOTA), disclosed this ahead of the upcoming 6th National Transport Conference in Abuja, slated for November 12-13.

With a theme, “Sustainable Transportation in a Disruptive Era: The Challenges of Developing Economy,” the conference aims to address policy and regulatory frameworks that advance the sector, tackling congestion and improving connectivity.

Obayendo emphasized the integration of innovative technologies alongside traditional methods, with insights from global experts to boost sustainable growth. He highlighted the government’s plan to establish a comprehensive national transport data bank, enabling evidence-based planning and improved infrastructure development.
