Seyi Adebayo is the Managing Director of Xanda Technologies, a position she has held since the inception of the company in 2017 to date. The spotlight is on her this week as she shares her entrepreneurial journey.
How did you establish Xanda Technologies, and what motivated you to create it?
The concept for Xanda Technologies was conceived in 2017 and officially registered then. However, active operations commenced in 2019. The idea was sparked when one of our founding partners attended an exhibition and recognized the potential of certain products that could be advantageous in our market. This marked the genesis of our journey. Today, we proudly offer an array of products in the realm of digital signage and beyond.
What is the vision and mission of Xanda Technology, and how do your company and products stand out?
With an adept grasp of contemporary technology and a robust expertise spanning digital solutions, signage, proximity advertising, and internet services, among others, we craft tailor-made engagement solutions that streamline communication and interaction between brands and their stakeholders. Our vision extends to being the premier service provider in the Nigerian service industry and beyond. As a 21st-century service entity, our mission involves exceeding the expectations of clients and partners through the provision of top-tier services coupled with innovative approaches to surmounting challenges within the service sector.

In terms of our offerings, XANDA TECH presents a diverse product range. For instance, there’s Xandadeck—a cutting-edge digital signage service residing in the Cloud. This cloud-based platform empowers users to effortlessly design, create, and schedule screens from anywhere in the world via computers or smartphones. We also have the LED iPoster—an evolution of the traditional rollup banner, similar dimensions with roll-up banners but it stands out amidst the clutter, effectively engaging audiences.

Furthermore, our Restaurant Automation process optimizes order-taking procedures and bolsters revenue by delivering an enhanced experience to patrons. It’s an intricately designed operational platform that employs kitchen displays, ordering tabs, kiosks, off-premise technology, and predictive analytics through robust integrations to achieve operational excellence.
Lastly, we also have Hotel TVs which are designed to impress guests with high-quality viewing experiences, that surpass home TV offerings. With internet streaming platforms like Netflix and Hulu increasing, 65% of households have internet-connected TVs. These TVs enhance the hotel’s image and meet the standards of affluent guests, providing sharper edges, distinct images, vivid colors, and smoother objects.
Could you elaborate on the challenges encountered during the initial stages of the company and the lessons learnt, which could assist other startups?
During the inception phase, the novelty of the terrain posed difficulties in marketing. However, as time progressed, people began recognizing the value of our products, and their success speaks for itself.
“From my personal journey, I’ve found that having dedicated partners who share your passion and vision and stand by your side loyally makes the journey more manageable.”
What notable difficulties do you face while operating this enterprise?
Predominantly, the most prominent challenge revolves around the cost of business operations. Similar to other businesses, we grapple with power supply issues, necessitating self-generated electricity through generators during working hours. Another substantial hurdle lies in the Foreign Exchange rate, given our reliance on imports for many of our products.
How would you evaluate the growth trajectory of your company to date, and what positive influence do you believe it has exerted on the lives of young Nigerians?
Our revenue has exhibited consistent and gradual growth, paralleled by an expanding client base. Product acceptance and quality are on an upward trend, and the broader market outlook appears highly promising. One of our aspirations is to contribute to mitigating unemployment. We’ve provided employment opportunities to numerous young individuals and also participate in a foundation that sponsors education.
What words of encouragement would you offer to fellow small business owners (SMEs) and emerging entrepreneurs?

Embarking on a business venture is undoubtedly challenging, yet the rewards are substantial. From my personal journey, I’ve found that having dedicated partners who share your passion and vision and stand by your side loyally makes the journey more manageable.
