SMEDAN is implementing a programme tagged “Women in Self Employment Programme (WISE-P) an initiative targeting women entrepreneurs in the Agri-business value chain.
The programme sought to empower women with business managerial skills as well as processing equipment that will be jointly used by the women Cooperatives, products that meets global competitiveness standards will be linked to regional and global markets.
40 women in Oyo and Ogun State have been Empowered with State of the Art processing machines to enable them process their Agricultural products to meet international standards.
Speaking at the hand over ceremony, the Director General/CEO Dr. Wale Fasanya who was represented by a Deputy Director Mr Tunde Oloyede encouraged the women to utilize the modern equipment to process their Agricultural products and package them appropriately to be able to leverage on the opportunities provided by the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement (AcFTA).
