Over the last two years, SMEDAN has mobilised over ₦11 billion to fuel Nigeria’s small business sector, resulting in the creation of more than 100,000 jobs nationwide.
According to its Director-General, Charles Odii, the agency has moved beyond funding to deliver a full package finance, equipment, digitisation, and regulatory support under the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Working with partners like UNDP, Google, and GIZ, SMEDAN has reopened dormant Industrial Development Centres in Abuja, Osun, and Katsina, equipping entrepreneurs with power, tools, and training.

Through partnerships with CAC, NAFDAC, SON, and FIRS, the agency is also simplifying business registration, tax compliance, and product certification.
SMEDAN is equally nurturing youth entrepreneurship by supporting NYSC members with resources to turn ideas into enterprises.
One standout initiative is the solar-powered Garment Hub in Abuja’s Idu Centre, helping fashion entrepreneurs scale up with consistent power and machines.
With its GROW Nigerian model Guidance, Resources, Opportunities, and Workforce SMEDAN is anchoring communities around empowered small businesses, proving that economic growth can start at the grassroots.
