The Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Charles Odii, recently engaged in a pivotal discussion with Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.
In a post shared on SMEDAN’s official X handle, the DG highlighted the agency’s commitment to empowering Nigerian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

He emphasized their shared focus on key areas such as capacity building, improving access to finance, and creating sustainable growth opportunities for small businesses.
Odii expressed enthusiasm about aligning SMEDAN’s goals with Mohammed’s dedication to sustainable development as a tool for economic transformation.

The meeting underscored the potential for collaborative initiatives designed to uplift small businesses and drive economic progress in Nigeria.
To conclude the meeting, Odii presented the UN Deputy Secretary-General with a “GROW Nigerian” box—a curated collection of products crafted by local SMEs—showcasing the innovation and resilience of Nigerian entrepreneurs.
