Abaachatpay, a SMEDAN partner, will offer MSME fintech solutions.
According to the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, one of the biggest problems MSMEs in Nigeria confront is their inability to take advantage of the opportunities presented by digital technologies.

This was said by Mr. Onesi-Lawani Daberuje, the Chief Strategy Officer to the DG, at a meeting with the Management and Board of Abaachatpay, who had come to the Agency to discuss possible partnership.

Mr. Daberuje asserts that the reason Nigerian MSMEs are falling behind on so many fronts is not that they are not diligent, but rather that they are unable to keep up with contemporary trends.

Despite the abundance of natural resources in the nation, he emphasized that Nigeria has not been very cooperative, not even at the regional level.

He continued by saying that although the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement has enormous potential, our MSMEs are not among the top 10 in terms of utilizing it, largely due to a lack of knowledge about the available fintech options.

The Abaachatpay team committed to making the platform affordable and user-friendly for MSMEs. They emphasized that the 39.6 million MSMEs listed in the most recent survey by SMEDAN and the National Bureau of Statistics would be given access to the global market and simple, dependable payment options while having fun chatting with friends, family, and clients thanks to appropriate fintech solutions.

A team made up of representatives from the two organizations was formed to assess the feasibility of the suggested partnership and determine how it may be improved to benefit MSMEs.
