Emphasizing the commitment of the Federal Government to an inclusive governance model, Odii highlighted the focus on supporting youth, women, and PWDs.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), 55 individuals in the Federal Capital Territory were trained and received certificates and start-up kits.
Among them, 35 in fashion designing obtained industrial machines, while 10 participants in catering were equipped with mixers, gas cylinders, and industrial ovens each.

Additionally, participants in leatherworks received the necessary machinery for their businesses.
This training initiative is set to extend to 13 states, with 55 participants in each state, making a total of 715 individuals empowered by SMEDAN. Mr Odii underscored the government’s recognition of the vital role played by small businesses in national development, pledging robust support.
Highlighting global examples, Odii drew parallels with India and China, emphasizing how these nations transformed their economies by prioritizing small businesses. He reassured that the current administration is not merely paying lip service to SME development, as evident in the ongoing initiatives and forthcoming plans.
