Managing Director of Seven-Up Bottling Company and convener of SME Scaleup, Ziad Maalouf, has highlighted challenges Nigerian entrepreneurs face as they scale their businesses.
Maalouf said this while speaking on his journey and insights to help Nigerian entrepreneurs avoid the mistakes he made in scaling up his business at the TEDx Pan Atlantic University (PAU) event.
Ziad Maalouf, who has spearheaded the remarkable growth of Seven-Up for over a decade, drawing from his entrepreneurial experience in e-commerce, shared his personal journey and valuable insights to empower Nigerian entrepreneurs. His presentation centered on addressing a pivotal challenge confronting many small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria: the Scale-Up Deficit Disorder (SDD), offering practical advice on how to avoid common pitfalls when scaling up a business.

The said “The problem is you. The cure for SSD starts with a clear focus on growth strategies. You have to take responsibility for your business’s growth and not wait for external factors to change.”
