Senator Sadiku Abubakar Ohere, former Member of Parliament representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has announced an initiative to empower the youth in his district through vocational training programs.
In a statement made available to Daily Independent, Senator Ohere disclosed that the empowerment program will be conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR). The first phase of the program will train 100 young individuals, equipping them with valuable skills in modern soap making, household detergent production, and advanced palm oil processing techniques.

According to the Senator, participants will gain not only practical knowledge but also the ability to share these skills within their communities, promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. To further support their entrepreneurial ventures, each trainee will receive a seed grant of at least 100,000 Naira.
Additionally, Senator Ohere has reaffirmed his dedication to education and community development. He recently sponsored the WAEC fees for 100 students and covered JAMB registration fees for over 300 candidates across Kogi Central Senatorial District. His efforts in education also include building new classrooms at Lenon Memorial College in Ageva and St. Andrew School in Okene, further demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of his community.
