The Yobe Chapter of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has issued a stern warning to its members against selling or diverting agricultural equipment provided by the state government. In a statement on Monday, AFAN’s state chairman, Alhaji Usman Ngari, emphasized that any member caught engaging in such activities would face strict penalties.
This warning follows the recent distribution of farm machinery to 5,340 farmers across Yobe State as part of the government’s Agricultural Empowerment Programme. The initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity, ensure food security, and drive economic growth in the region.

Ngari noted that the state government has the profiles and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) of all beneficiaries, and has vowed to prosecute anyone found guilty of selling or misusing the equipment. AFAN, at its own level, will also impose sanctions on those involved in this act of sabotage.
Ngari urged beneficiaries to share the equipment with other farmers in their communities, ensuring that the benefits of the program reach as many people as possible. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Mai Mala Buni for launching the initiative, which is expected to make farming more attractive, profitable, and efficient in Yobe State.
