Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unveiled a strategic plan to bolster job creation for Lagos’ burgeoning youth population at the third Employment Summit organized by LSETF. Emphasizing the need for sustainable economic opportunities, Sanwo-Olu announced a doubling of investments in skill development and entrepreneurship to enhance productivity and employment prospects.
Addressing the influx of young migrants to urban areas, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the imperative of targeted resource allocation for job creation through innovative programs. He committed to increasing financial support for MSMEs, urging partners to join in this effort.

The Summit, attended by government agencies and international partners, celebrated LSETF’s impact in creating over 221,000 jobs and training 18,998 youths across diverse sectors. Acting Executive Secretary Feyisayo Alayande underscored the agency’s role in fostering employment through strategic partnerships.
The event concluded with the launch of the Labour Market Information System, aimed at providing real-time employment data. Sanwo-Olu’s initiatives signify a concerted push towards sustainable economic growth and collaboration to meet Lagos’ evolving employment needs.
