The Rivers State Government has introduced free medical services for senior citizens under the Health4AllRivers initiative. Dr. Vetty Agala, Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme, encouraged beneficiaries to take advantage of regular health check-ups to improve their wellbeing.
Hon. Tonye Briggs Oniyide, Coordinator of the programme, explained that recipients were carefully selected from vulnerable and hard-to-reach elderly residents across the state’s 23 local government areas, including non-indigenes.

She urged beneficiaries to use the support judiciously to enhance their livelihoods and quality of life.
The programme is part of Rivers State’s broader strategy to provide social protection, improve access to healthcare, and support the elderly population.
