A recent fire at Mgbuka Obosi Market in Onitsha caused damage to two stores and a provision shop, but no lives were lost. The quick response from the Anambra Fire Service was instrumental in containing the blaze and saving numerous other shops in the market.
According to Chief Fire Officer Chukwudi Chiketa, the fire was reported at 2:00 a.m. and was promptly addressed by firefighters who successfully prevented further damage. Chiketa identified a power surge as the cause of the fire and highlighted the importance of fire safety awareness.
