The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has pledged full support to Plateau State’s digital transformation efforts, with plans to convert the iconic Nigeria Standard building into a modern tech hub.
Minister Dr. Bosun Tijani, during a visit to Governor Caleb Mutfwang in Jos, unveiled a raft of initiatives including the deployment of 7,000 telecom towers nationwide—Plateau among the pilot states—and the launch of a Talent City Project to drive youth employment and innovation.
“This city is brimming with potential. We see Plateau as key to Nigeria’s digital future,” Dr. Tijani said, citing Jos’ creative legacy and strategic importance in the national tech agenda.

He encouraged Plateau youth to join the ongoing 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme and emphasized that connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity to transform sectors like agriculture, healthcare, and security.
Governor Mutfwang welcomed the partnership, saying it aligns with his goal of building a smart Plateau while leveraging technology to tackle border security and economic development.
“This visit is not just timely, it’s a game-changer,” the governor added.
