The Plateau State government has launched a dedicated online portal for the registration of business premises, aimed at improving regulation, transparency, and ease of doing business for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the state.
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Mohammed Salihu Nyalun, announced the initiative during a stakeholders’ sensitisation meeting in Jos, describing it as a “significant turning point” in building a more efficient, technology-driven commercial environment.
He explained that the digital platform replaces the state’s decades-old manual registration system, offering features such as online payment options, real-time status tracking, step-by-step guidance, and secure access for business owners, whether in urban centres or remote communities.

Nyalun noted that the platform will help government compile a comprehensive database of businesses for targeted support, minimise revenue leakages, and strengthen investor confidence. He added that the system is compulsory for all businesses in the state, backed by legislation for strict enforcement.
Developed in collaboration with the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, the online registration is part of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s broader reforms to align with global best practices and improve the state’s ranking in Nigeria’s ease-of-doing-business index.
