As part of its ongoing attempts to mitigate the effects of subsidy reduction, the Oyo State government plans to deliver 11,000 bags of poultry feed to the 1,691 poultry producers in the state.
This information was made public at the opening remarks for World Egg Day in Ibadan by the commissioner for agriculture and rural development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye.
He claims that this will improve and advance the state’s food security.

According to him, the program’s first phase would provide feed for 1,691 chicken farmers, 1,691 fish farmers, 2,537 farmers of crops, 2,539 farmers of cattle, sheep, and goats, and 1,691 farmers of poultry.
The Oyo State Government has a strong interest in regulating the poultry industry in the state, according to Olasunkwnmi, who said that the contributions made by poultry farmers to food security cannot be understated.
Having reliable information about the state’s poultry producers will assist the ministry ensure high-quality production for the general public, he claimed.
