The governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has stated the state’s willingness to collaborate with the Netherlands in the areas of fostering young agropreneurs, agro-processing, and creating opportunities for agricultural tourism.
When Wouter Plomp, the Dutch ambassador to Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit to the Agodi Secretariat in Ibadan, he said this.
While listing the many initiatives his administration has taken to link the state’s agricultural production and consumption areas, Governor Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to positioning the state at the forefront of the nation’s agroprocessing.
Additionally, the governor promised to promote agribusiness investment and play a big role in ensuring that international investors are successful in establishing a thriving agricultural business empire in the state.
Earlier, the Ambassador to the Netherlands, Wouter Plomp explained that Oyo state has a lot of potentials as a strategic partner for agric business, adding that the Netherlands intends to exchange ideas and learn from the state on ways to expand opportunities for the future of agric business in the state and by extension the South West region.
He also expressed desire to work particularly with youths in the areas of agricultural production, processing, aids & trades, and exploring opportunities in agric business in the state.
