The Oyo State administration has initiated a new phase of distributing agricultural resources and inputs to farmers across six local government areas, aiming to bolster agricultural productivity and food security in the region.
Supervised by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye, the launch took place in Saki West Local Government, marking another stride in the ongoing Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) initiative.
Expressing the government’s dedication to elevating crop yields and ensuring food sufficiency, Commissioner Olaleye emphasized the simultaneous distribution across ATISBO, Saki West, Oorelope, Kajola, Iwajowa, and Itesiwaju local governments within Oke Ogun.

Underlining the commitment to supporting farmers amidst subsidy adjustments, beneficiaries are equipped with essential tools such as herbicides, snap-sack sprayer tanks, hybrid maize seedlings, insecticides, and improved cassava stems.
With approximately 766 arable farmers benefiting from this phase, the government is poised to extend further assistance through the SAfER scheme, encompassing initiatives like free livestock vaccination, feed distribution for small ruminants, and tractor subsidies in the forthcoming weeks.
Local community leaders, Mr. Daniel Oketola and Mr. Oladunni Isaiah, lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his proactive approach in uplifting farmers and urged recipients to maximize the benefits of the distributed inputs for optimal agricultural outcomes.
