LAGOS – The management of the bank has announced that more than 2,000 tech enthusiasts, including programmers, engineers, students, designers, idea generators, and other members of the digital ecosystem, have registered for the upcoming FCMB Hackathon, which will take place from October 27 to 29 in just one week.
According to the report, the high enrolment rates demonstrate the program’s widespread appeal among techies and attest to First City Monument Bank and its parent business, the FCMB Group, commitment to supporting large-scale innovation.
The 50-hour virtual hackathon, which is being held in collaboration with Ingressive for Good, will use FCMB APIs to further open banking initiatives.
It will bring together a wide range of tech enthusiasts to collaborate develop proofs of concept and minimal viable products (MVPs) geared at addressing a particular, preÂdefined challenge.

The FCMB Hackathon stands out because it can accommodate approximately 2,000 tech enthusiasts, including programmers, engineers, students, designers, idea generators, and other players in the digital ecosystem, on a dynamic platform. Together, they will develop sustainable solutions and projects to tackle current societal issues and commercial challenges.
Participants will compete for significant prizes while also showcasing their creative notions and technical prowess as they create digital solutions. The top teams will be recognised for their ground-breaking innovations and receive cash awards and valued things.
