1,000 cows and sheep were captured by Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) troops who are preserving peace in Plateau and its surroundings. The animals were grazing on farmlands in the Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
The operation’s media officer, Capt. James Oya, stated this in a statement made today in Jos.
As part of our continued efforts to address the security problems in Mangu, OPSH forces at Dumunan village in the Bwai region of Mangu LGA have apprehended over 1000 livestock and sheep that were grazing on people’ farms.
These sheep and cattle came from the local governments of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi, according to preliminary research.
He stated, “We currently have custody of these cattle and will take appropriate action.”
Oya did not clarify, however, whether the cattle’s owners had also been taken into custody.
The media representative reaffirmed Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, commander of OPSH,’s resolve to putting an end to attacks and killings in Mangu LGA and the surrounding areas.
