The Osun State Government has approved operational guidelines for tractor services across farmlands, aiming to ease farming costs ahead of the rainy season.
Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Tola Faseru, announced the initiative on Monday, stating that farmers can access tractor services at a subsidized rate per acre.
Applications can be submitted physically or online to the ministry’s Permanent Secretary or the General Manager of Osun State Agricultural Development Corporation (OSSADEC).

To ensure efficiency, tractors will be stationed at OSSADEC farm centres, with technical hubs for maintenance and trained operators for improved service delivery.
The initiative, structured under a public-private partnership model, marks the state’s first tractor acquisition in over 14 years.
Governor Ademola Adeleke emphasized a sustainable, business-oriented management approach, ensuring farmers benefit without past inefficiencies.
The ministry is also engaging stakeholders to guarantee widespread access.
