Former Nigerian Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, have discussed funding for the Timbuktoo Africa Innovation Fund.
This $1 billion initiative, championed by Osinbajo, aims to support African startups through stronger innovation ecosystems, practical policies, and access to capital.
Osinbajo shared insights from his meeting with Dangote on Instagram, highlighting their collaborative efforts to bolster young African entrepreneurs.
The Timbuktoo Africa Innovation Fund, inaugurated at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2024, has seen Osinbajo actively promoting it across the continent.
He met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame on March 27 in Kigali to discuss the fund’s implementation.

More recently, on July 4, Osinbajo launched the Pan-African Agritech Hub in Ghana, a key initiative of the fund, aiming to revolutionize agriculture with technology.
During the launch, he met with Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Osinbajo’s strategic travels to Rwanda and Ghana underscore his commitment to raising awareness and securing support for the transformative Timbuktoo Africa Innovation Fund.
