One Acre Fund Nigeria initiated its 2024 Input Delivery Season, heralding a significant moment in the quest to uplift smallholder farmers across Nigeria.
The event, graced by government officials, community leaders, development partners, and eager farmers, reiterated the organization’s steadfast commitment to revolutionizing agriculture and fostering sustainable rural livelihoods.
The ambiance buzzed with anticipation and enthusiasm as participants convened at the One Acre Fund Shop situated at Bosso Local Government Council’s Secretariat Junction in Niger State on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, Adetola Adegbite, Country Director of One Acre Fund Nigeria, spotlighted the organization’s commendable impact in the North Central Geo-Political region, highlighting achievements in 2023 and the ongoing benefits accruing to farmers in Niger State and beyond.
Adegbite outlined ambitious plans for the 2024 Input Delivery Season, including the distribution of 6 million trees to 220,000 farmers across Niger, Nasarawa, and Kwara States. He emphasized One Acre Fund’s dedication to reaching underserved communities and promoting sustainable agricultural practices on a larger scale, ensuring last-mile access to quality inputs for farmers.
Speaking on the significance of last-mile delivery, Mr. Emmanuel Bamgboye, the Field Operations lead, stressed its pivotal role in agricultural development, especially for smallholder farmers facing challenges in accessing inputs. He underscored how direct delivery empowers farmers, enhancing productivity and livelihoods.
Hon. Musa Salihu Bawa Bosso, Niger State Commissioner for Agriculture, conveyed deep appreciation for One Acre Fund’s contributions to agricultural development, emphasizing its role in food production, environmental conservation, and rural empowerment. The District Head of Maikunkele, Alhaji Suleiman Dada, echoed gratitude for One Acre Fund’s interventions, highlighting enhanced productivity and community well-being.
Farmers expressed heartfelt gratitude for One Acre Fund’s support, sharing stories of improved yields and strengthened community bonds. The event culminated in the official commencement of input distribution for the 2024 planting season, marked by the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, symbolizing a new phase in empowering farmers and advancing sustainable rural development.
