Pastor Jide Ipinsagba, the senator who represents the Ondo North senatorial constituency in the Senate, organized a fertiliser distribution that helped over 2,000 farmers in the district.
The distribution was seen to be essential for boosting food production self-sufficiency.
Ipinsagba stated during the distribution that empowering the farmers was one of his election promises.
He emphasized that the goal of this campaign was involve lower-level farmers in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agricultural plan.
Ipinsagba asked the farmers to cultivate more land with food and cash crops in order to meet public demand and ensure their families had enough to eat. He was represented by his legislative assistant, Hon. Aladetimehin Olusola.
He emphasized that the farmers’ goals of advancing agriculture and guaranteeing food security in the state will be greatly advanced by the free distribution of fertilizer.
Noting the enormous growth the Sunshine State had experienced in the previous seven years, particularly in the field of food production, he urged the populace to support the Akeredolu-led administration.

“I vowed to encourage our diligent farmers on my campaign tour. I promised to support them, and I am happy to report that I kept my word.
He emphasized that the measures being taken were to enhance the lives of all Nigerians and revive the national economy, and he pleaded with the farmers and the residents of the state to be patient with both the state and federal governments.
Mrs. Sadeko Modupe, a representative of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), pleaded with the recipients not to sell the fertilizer for absurd sums of money.
She emphasized that fertilizers were designed to give plants vital nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus, increasing crop yield and quality and increasing the marketability and value of produce.
Ajayi Emmanuel, the Zonal Chairman of the Association, bemoaned the lack of help given to farmers by the government.
He said that this action will greatly increase agricultural output.
Ajayi praised Ipinsagba for empowering low-income farmers in the six Local Governments in the region and urged other politicians to follow his example.
Oluduro Johnson, a beneficiary and prominent member of the community, stated: “Ipinsagba has demonstrated that he is accountable and responsible to his citizens.
We’ve been wanting this for a very long time, but we didn’t have the money to get it.
