In an effort to increase revenue and give the youth employment opportunities, the Ondo State Government has stated that it is still committed to the development of agriculture.
The government has reportedly started building an oil palm factory, according to Mr. Akin Olotu, the state’s Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Agriculture and Agribusiness.
In a few months, the governor would launch the factory, he claimed.

Olotu said the factory would be producing 720 metric tons of palm oil per day.
When the agro-factory starts operating in the state, he continued, it will employ more than 5,000 people.
He declared, “Something has now been signed, we are building the factory, and it will take us a whole year to finish it. The factory would be opened by Governor Akeredolu the following year. 30 metric tons of palm oil every hour, or 720 metric tons per day, would be produced at the factory.

By the time it is finished, the farm will have doctors, nurses, secondary schools, and primary schools because none of them have fewer than 5,000 employees. The Ondo State oil palm project is a huge success.
Regarding the production of cash crops, Olotu outlined how the government was prepared to work with and support any initiatives to advance the state’s cashew and cocoa sectors.
