On Thursday, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) owners in Ogun State were encouraged to take advantage of the initiatives provided by the Dapo Abiodun-led government, which include improved access to financing and a land acquisition scheme.
During a hybrid stakeholder meeting in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Adebola Sofela, urged business owners to utilize these opportunities. The meeting saw participation from various business membership organizations.
Sofela highlighted the state government’s reforms designed to create a business-friendly environment and attract private sector investments. Key initiatives include automating business registration processes, which aim to reduce the cost and time required to complete business procedures. Additionally, the inclusion of MSMEs in government contracts is intended to foster a supportive environment for entrepreneurs.

The commissioner also emphasized the importance of promoting digital literacy, adopting e-commerce platforms, and developing industrial parks, hubs, and economic zones.
Dr. Femi Egbesola, National President of the Association of Small Business Owners of Nigeria, assured the state government of the unwavering support of small business owners in Ogun State.
The meeting was attended by agencies such as the German Agency for International Cooperation, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and the Ogun State Signage Agency, among others.
