The Ogun State Government has committed to fostering the growth of entrepreneurs within the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Adebola Sofela, made this announcement in Abeokuta during the launch of the Orange Corners Nigeria Hub.
This event saw the attendance of the Consul-General of the Netherlands in Nigeria, Michel Deelen.
Governor Abiodun emphasized that the Orange Corners Nigeria Hub aligns seamlessly with the strategic priorities and economic agenda of Ogun State. The initiative aims to inspire the entrepreneurial spirit among youths and drive the state towards enhanced socio-economic development.
The state government pledged to collaborate with key stakeholders to provide training, mentoring, and funding for young entrepreneurs.
This partnership is expected to improve market access for SMEs, advocate for supportive policies, and develop necessary infrastructure.
“With the launch of this innovative hub, we anticipate a surge in entrepreneurial excellence, significantly contributing to Ogun State’s growth and prosperity,” Abiodun remarked.
He highlighted that the training, mentorship, and funding will equip young entrepreneurs with vital skills and resources to compete globally.
The initiative is set to create jobs, stimulate economic activities, and reduce poverty and unemployment in Ogun State, thereby enhancing social security and mitigating youth unrest.

Governor Abiodun also pointed to various existing programs promoting entrepreneurship, including the Ogun Tech Hub, Ogun State Enterprise Development Agency, and the SME Financial Empowerment Scheme. The state has also utilized the N200bn presidential intervention fund to support SMEs.
Michel Deelen, the Consul-General, noted the Netherlands’ partnership with FATE Foundation to empower entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, and funding.
FATE Foundation’s Executive Director, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi, added that 20 entrepreneurs will benefit from a six-month incubation and empowerment program, complete with financial grants to kickstart their businesses.
