The government has pledged to support the 63 indigenous graduates by providing land, seedlings, and connecting them to financial organizations. The Soilless Farm, backed by the MasterCard Foundation, trains 1,000 individuals quarterly in soilless farming technology.
This initiative aims to produce more soilless farmers who can train others, contributing to food sufficiency in Nigeria and Africa. The training has been described as transformative by beneficiaries, who have seen significant improvements in their agricultural practices through the use of technology.
By investing in agricultural training and support, Ogun State is working towards addressing challenges such as poor land tenure, low irrigation, and climate change, and ultimately achieving food security for its citizens.
