Governor Dapo Abiodun has unveiled plans to reshape the narrative around Ogun State’s youth, focusing on innovation and small business development to combat the negative association with cybercrime and other criminal activities.
Speaking at the Ogun Creative Industry & Technology Conference in Abeokuta, the governor, represented by his Special Adviser on Youth Development, Akinwale Ogunnaike, emphasized the administration’s commitment to empowering youth through technology and entrepreneurship.
“Our youths are talented, and it’s essential to channel their skills into productive ventures. By harnessing their potential, we can build a thriving SME ecosystem that drives economic growth in Ogun State,” Abiodun said.

Highlighting the state’s strides in revenue generation and creative talent, the governor urged young people to explore opportunities in the creative and tech sectors, which are key drivers of SME development.
The event featured industry leaders like filmmaker Tunde Kelani, comedian Ali Baba, and showbiz personality Denrele Edun, who inspired attendees with insights into leveraging creativity for economic gains.
Abiodun reiterated his administration’s vision of “building our future together,” positioning Ogun State as a hub for innovation and SME-driven growth.
