Governor Dapo Abiodun has urged for collaborative opportunities with Germany. During a meeting with the Consul-General of the German Embassy, Weert Borner, at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun emphasized the importance of leveraging partnerships to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s food security agenda.
Governor Abiodun underscored his administration’s commitment to exploring partnerships in merchandised farming, aiming to empower small-scale farmers across eight extension services with the necessary skills for sustainable agricultural practices. Furthermore, he pledged to provide tractors and other mechanized farming equipment to facilitate the implementation of his administration’s agricultural initiatives.

Acknowledging the German Government’s contributions, Governor Abiodun expressed appreciation for the capacity-building program initiated by GIZ in the state. He also highlighted Ogun State’s significant non-oil revenue, attributing it to the abundance of mineral resources, particularly limestone.
The governor’s call for collaboration underscores the state’s proactive approach to addressing food security challenges and promoting sustainable agricultural development. Through strategic partnerships and investment in agricultural infrastructure, Ogun State aims to strengthen its position as a key player in Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.
