The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, emphasized the necessity for Nigerian-made products to be competitive in both quality and pricing to attract patronage from citizens.
During a courtesy visit by the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Otumba Francis Meshioye, and his team, the monarch expressed concern over the proliferation of counterfeit goods, particularly pharmaceuticals, urging government agencies to tackle the issue.

Oba Ewuare II highlighted the importance of diversifying the economy away from overreliance on crude oil exports, stressing the need for increased productivity. Meshioye, appealing to the monarch’s influence, sought support in promoting locally made goods as a means to foster sustainable economic growth and boost indigenous industries.
