Nigeria LNG (NLNG) has commenced its Nigerian Content Human Capacity Development Basic Training Programme under the Train 7 Project, designed to reskill young graduates and boost local expertise in the oil and gas sector.
Out of 848 shortlisted candidates from the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content (NOGIC) Joint Qualification System, 331 graduates from diverse academic backgrounds have been enrolled in the 12-month programme. The training focuses on areas such as engineering, welding and fabrication, non-destructive testing, quality management, marine and offshore services, and facility management.
Speaking at the launch event, NLNG Train 7 Corporate Liaison Manager Joshua Anemeje, who represented the project, said:

NLNG takes pride in empowering people and building skills. Train 7 is nearly 75% complete, employing over 10,000 skilled individuals on-site. This training equips participants with knowledge to excel in their future endeavours.”
NCDMB Executive Secretary Felix Ogbe, represented by Dr. Ama Ikuru, Director of Capacity Building and Corporate Services, emphasized the programme’s significance in developing a pool of globally competitive workers to support the growth of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The initiative is part of the Train 7 Project’s broader commitment to Nigerian content, aligning with government objectives to increase local participation in key economic sectors while creating jobs and building critical skills for national development.
