In a landmark effort to meet Nigeria’s ambitious target of 70% digital literacy by 2027, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with CISCO and Nassarawa State University, Keffi, has introduced the Digital Literacy for All (DL4NSUK) programme.
This initiative is set to embed digital literacy into the school curriculum, equipping students with critical digital skills needed for success in today’s technology-driven world. Speaking at the launch, NITDA’s Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa, emphasized the significance of this initiative, calling it a transformative collaboration between academia, industry, and government.
He noted that DL4NSUK will help produce graduates with practical digital expertise rather than just credentials, strengthening Nigeria’s digital sovereignty and preparing the workforce for an increasingly digital global economy.
By integrating digital skills into education, the initiative supports Nigeria’s journey toward a more inclusive, technologically skilled society, with empowered citizens ready to drive and participate in the digital economy.
