In a strategic move to bolster Africa’s digital security, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, participated in the high-level Crystal Ball Workshop hosted by the Counter Ransomware Initiative.
The workshop, which brought together global agencies and cybersecurity experts, focused on addressing the rising threat of ransomware across the continent.

It provided a platform for intelligence sharing, collaboration, and the development of best practices to enhance Africa’s cybersecurity resilience.

NITDA announced its involvement in the workshop via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, underscoring its commitment to advancing a secure and robust digital ecosystem for businesses and individuals across Africa.
The initiative aims to reduce the impact of ransomware on organisations, SMEs, critical infrastructure, and the general public, while promoting a safer digital economy for the continent.
