The Assa North-Ohaji South (ANOH) Gas Processing Plant, located in Assah, Imo State, has begun production with a daily output of 850 million standard cubic feet (MMSCF) of gas the highest in Nigeria’s history.
This major development, a joint venture between NNPC Ltd and Seplat Energy Plc, is part of the Federal Government’s “Decade of Gas” agenda, aimed at expanding access to cleaner energy, reducing gas flaring, and boosting economic growth.
Governor Hope Uzodimma described the Seplat-operated ANOH plant as a major milestone that positions Imo as the heart of Nigeria’s gas revolution.

He noted that the facility will not only power the Orashi Special Energy Free Trade Zone (OSEFTZ) but also attract investments and support small businesses in the state.
With improved energy infrastructure and increased industrial activity expected, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Ohaji/Egbema and beyond could benefit from better power supply, new markets, and job opportunities linked to the gas value chain.
