In a bid to boost Nigeria’s dairy industry and kickstart milk exportation across Africa, the Federal Government has reiterated its dedication to unlocking the sector’s full potential under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
Vice President Kashim Shettima conveyed this commitment during the launch of the National Dairy Policy Document, coinciding with this year’s World Milk Day celebrations.

Representing the Vice President at the event was Kingsley Uzoma, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Agribusiness and Productivity Enhancement.
Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Abdullahi Sabi, highlighted key aspects of the National Dairy Policy.
He emphasized that the policy aims to foster a supportive environment for the dairy industry, spur job creation, reduce imports, and establish milk production targets along with milk collection centers.
With these initiatives, the government aims to strengthen the dairy subsector, positioning Nigeria as a competitive player in the African dairy market.
