President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to deepen strategic partnerships with Denmark, focusing on livestock development, agribusiness, and education.
Speaking at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, Tinubu received Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark, Patron of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), during her first official visit to Nigeria. He was joined by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu.
The President emphasized that expanding Nigeria’s dairy and livestock sector is critical to ensuring food security, creating jobs, and driving rural development.

He noted that with Nigeria’s rapidly growing population, investing in agriculture and education is vital to lifting millions out of poverty.
“We can transform friction into structured economic opportunity and build education pathways for farmers and herders,” Tinubu said. “This will help stabilise communities and grow our food systems.”
He also highlighted the importance of addressing herder-farmer conflicts through structured investments and modernisation of agricultural practices.
Tinubu reiterated that Nigeria’s demographic strategy, aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, remains a core part of its foreign policy. With a projected population of 400 million by 2050, he stressed the urgent need for targeted investments in key sectors to prepare for the country’s future needs.
