The Niger State Government has launched a financial literacy and entrepreneurship training program for 10,000 youths, with a strong focus on young women.
The initiative, held in partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) and MasterCard Foundation, was inaugurated in Minna under the Transforming Nigerian Youth Programme (TNY).
Special Adviser to the Governor on Social Investment, Mrs. Hauwa Bako, highlighted that the training aims to enhance business management skills, employability, and entrepreneurial mindsets.

Designed primarily for female entrepreneurs, the program offers a mix of 60% online and 40% offline training, targeting 80% women and 20% men aged 18-35.
Participants will receive mentorship, business registration support, branding assistance, and certification.
While the training does not include starter packs, grants, or loans, Commissioner for MSMEs, Mrs. Elizabeth Shaba, emphasized that it will equip young entrepreneurs with essential business skills. Interested participants can register via bit.ly/tny25niger.
