The Leader Team, a nonprofit organization, has offered empowerment and mentorship activities to help small-scale enterprises flourish in an effort to break the cycle of poverty and reduce the unemployment gap in Nigeria.
The empowerment, which comes in the form of an asset grant, is anticipated to assist the business owners in upscaling production, enhancing efficiency, and expanding employment prospects.
During the award ceremony conducted in Abuja, William Karshima, country representative for The Leader Team Nigeria & United States of America, noted that 44 firms have been empowered by the organization since 2022.
He said the organization goes through a seven-month intense leadership and business training program once a year when mentees are given training in areas like financial management, strategic planning, growth strategies, social impact, etc. Grants and other possibilities for advancement are also provided for them.
