Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Tech Herfrica recently conducted a training session in Nasarawa, empowering 260 women with digital skills to enhance their income.
The initiative, part of the EquipHer4Growth program, aimed to bridge gaps in digital and financial literacy, e-commerce, and access to financial services.
Miss Esohe Ekunwe, Director of Operations at Tech Herfrica, emphasized the collaboration with Amplitude Group, an Africa-focused Telecommunications Infrastructure Company, during the training held on Nov. 29 in Andaha community.

Ekunwe highlighted the importance of reaching rural women, stating, “The EquipHer4Growth initiative is committed to leaving a lasting impact.
The training addressed challenges, such as limited smartphone ownership (14.62%) among participants, lack of e-commerce awareness, and limited access to banking (50.77%).
Utilizing pidgin and Hausa languages, the training covered digital literacy, e-commerce, financial literacy, and access to financial services.
Post-training assessments revealed impressive results, with 92% of participants showing heightened digital and financial literacy, and 96.2% expressing newfound confidence in utilizing technology.
As part of the initiative, 10 clusters received smartphones to enhance agricultural output and engage in e-commerce activities, leveraging Tech Herfrica’s co-created solution, herlocalmarket.
The program also trained cluster leaders to serve as change agents, providing ongoing support and information dissemination in the community.
